New car sales
The UK new car market pushed on again in July, with registrations up 11.7% year-on-year to 156,571 units, according to the latest figures released by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT). While that comes against a fairly soft July last year, it still marks an eighth straight month of growth as the market continues its longer-term recovery back towards pre-Covid levels.
