Electric Vehicle Data

The UK motor industry is set to benefit from a major upgrade of electric vehicle data following an announcement from automotive data experts cap hpi.

The incorporation of new electric vehicle (EV) content into cap hpi’s new vehicle data will take place from 1 July. The upgrade comes as a result of increasing customer demand and the rapidly expanding market for EV engine types.

Jon Bulloch, head of OEM at cap hpi said: “Following unprecedented demand, we’re delighted to present the latest release of Electric Vehicle New Vehicle Data. cap hpi’s team of data experts has worked very closely with manufacturers across the industry to provide a comprehensive guide to nearly 200 electric and hybrid derivatives available in the UK market.”

In compiling the new EV data, cap hpi has created a detailed list of fields to cater for the variables within the category. There are four stages of battery charge speed relating to all the different manufacturer information along with more standard fields, such as battery capacity, type and coupler/connector type.

The new set of fields will be available in four formats in total, NVD ASCII, NVD SQL, NVD CSV (Car Enhanced Technical CSV) and NVD JSON (Car Enhanced Technical JSON and will begin to receive updates alongside the standard engine types currently available. The EV content will be available through cap hpi web services, valuation anywhere and cap hpi Connect.

Added Jon Bulloch: “This is the first new engine category released into cap hpi’s comprehensive new vehicle data and it will be available for all customers who purchase the enhanced new vehicle data product.”
