Data partnership boosts caravan sector
Black Horse, the vehicle finance arm of Lloyds Bank, is working in partnership with automotive data experts cap hpi to identify, value and finance motorhomes and caravans accurately.
The work supports the caravan industry by enabling the latest models to be available within the Black Horse point of sale finance system, which allows manufacturers and dealers to generate finance quotations and proposals for customers.
Experts at cap hpi have worked closely with manufacturers and dealers to ensure new models are listed on its system in time for the new 2019 ‘season’ launch to be held at the National Motorhome and Caravan Show at Birmingham NEC, 16-21 October.*
This is the third year that cap hpi has supplied Black Horse with data for new vehicle pricing, vehicle codes and descriptions.
Richard Jones, managing director, Black Horse added: “We continue to drive innovation in this sector and work with our dealer partners to help them support their customers. We already help almost 16,000 customers buy a caravan or motorhome every year, and our work with cap hpi will help to grow this number.”
Black Horse originally partnered with cap hpi consulting to launch an innovative Personal Contract Purchase (PCP) product for customers looking to buy a new caravan or new motorhome. Black Horse was the first finance provider to offer this across a range of caravans and motorhomes.
Commenting on the partnership Mark Turnbull, global head of consulting at cap hpi said: “The data helps Black Horse to support sales across the industry and enables customers to buy their dream caravan or tourer. Great data helps the system to operate efficiently, and it’s important that manufacturers and dealers continue to support the platform with up to date product information.”
*Data on new models not submitted before being launched at the show will be included and added to the Black Horse system post launch, once manufacturers have made it available.
