Automotive data and technology expert cap is gearing up for growth in Germany with an expert team.

“We believe a single global code will not only help manufacturers but will drive innovation and growth throughout the vehicle lifecycle. Data led businesses will be able to scale internationally in a fraction of the time and with much less cost.”

The company has expanded its team of analysts and industry experts as it rolls-out its used car valuation data, which will cover data for specifications including VIN, used vehicle valuations and retail market prices.

The team will be led by Martin Verrelli, international business development director, who has a brief to grow the company’s global operations. Verrelli brings a wealth of experience from senior international roles at Volkswagen, Jato and EuroTaxGlass’s.

Patrick Mayerhörmann is the car editor in Germany. He will work with an international team of editors to lead analysis of Europe’s largest car market. He has previously held senior roles in MBtech Consulting and EurotaxGlass’s.

Max Robert Mueller is the future car value manager for Germany. Mr Mueller, who will be based predominantly in Berlin, will work with an international team of editors to provide forecast analysis of Europe’s largest car market. He has previously held senior roles at AutoVista Group and EurotaxGlass’s.

cap recently announced plans to launch a globalised approach to automotive data that will have far-reaching implications for the motor industry.

The company said the move was in response to industry demand, which will enable companies, for the first time, to take a unified view of global trends, and see efficiencies across all operations that use new and used vehicle data.

Martin Verrelli, international business development director at cap, said: “The automotive industry is undergoing seismic changes that will require new levels of data insight if the opportunities are to be exploited. The new global code will provide a future-proofed solution platform that will unlock the ability to share vehicle data across international boundaries.

“We believe a single global code will not only help manufacturers but will drive innovation and growth throughout the vehicle lifecycle. Data led businesses will be able to scale internationally in a fraction of the time and with much less cost.”

cap say the new code is numeric-based and will do away with both the language and capacity issues of the current system. It will allow far greater levels of detail and accuracy when describing a model, chassis and powertrain variants.

The company has invested in its product development and digital capabilities to build capacity to develop applications for the code.
