With the upcoming show season, talk in the media of the new models we can expect going into 2020 and the many late season offers, are offering some respite from brexit word and politics in general. This is of course is short term and is not what we are concerned with in this product. As time rolls on, there is still little evidence of what the outcome will be, never mind the changes it could inflict on our industry. Temporarily it is getting the blame for the slowing of showroom traffic that according to dealer sentiment, is lower than would “normally” be expected. In sales though there is always an excuse looked for when things go quieter. This month as with last month’s product, dealer feedback in association with other forms of research have led to a reduction in reported prices across the board and this is in line with the seasonalisation expected in the industry. Mentioned previously, still ongoing and will continue to do so is certain models that have sold significant amounts in the past are now returning to the used market at the end of PCP contracts. This results in a temporary imbalance in the supply/demand chain, but over a period of time those affected will start to be traded at different times, stabilising prices and supply more in line with market requirements.
